This black aluminum adapter ring, featuring a built-in focus confirmation chip, allows you to mount classic M42 screw-mount manual lenses onto Sony/Minolta A-mount (MA) DSLR cameras. It provides focus confirmation on compatible bodies to aid in more precise manual focusing. Precision-machined from aluminum, it ensures a secure connection and accurate infinity focus, serving as a reliable tool to explore the rendering of vintage lenses on the A-mount system.
Key Features
1.Focus Confirmation: The built-in chip activates the focus confirmation indicator (beep or focus point highlight) in the viewfinder of compatible cameras when accurate manual focus is achieved, significantly improving focusing success. (This is an aid, NOT autofocus).
2.Fixed EXIF Data: The chip transmits fixed, non-editable EXIF data to the camera: 50mm focal length at F1.7. This data is factory preset and cannot be changed.
3.Infinity Focus Guaranteed: Precision machining ensures correct flange distance compensation, enabling adapted M42 lenses to achieve sharp focus at infinity.
4.Fully Manual & Mechanical: This is a non-electronic, mechanical adapter. All automatic functions (auto aperture, autofocus, auto-exposure) are disabled. Aperture must be set manually using the lens's aperture ring.
5.Stop-Down Metering Required: As the camera cannot control the lens aperture, you must use stop-down metering: after focusing, stop down the lens to the desired shooting aperture, then meter by pressing the shutter button halfway or using the depth-of-field preview button.

Usage Notes
Camera Settings: It is recommended to shoot in Manual (M) mode. Some cameras may require enabling a "Manual Lens" or similar option in the menu.
Focusing & Metering: Focus manually by turning the lens focus ring and watch for the confirmation signal. For metering, follow the "stop-down metering" procedure described above.
Handling & Care: Always power off the camera before mounting or dismounting. Clean the adapter mounts periodically for smooth operation.
